Meet landré

Measuring time has always been a fascination for men. Over the years, the methodologies for doing so have evolved, to the point that currently the tools for measuring time have become an essential and elegant accessory.

The inspiration that brought LANDRÉ to life occurs at Mayfair, London - 2012. The unconventional elegance of people at the streets and the effortless but unique sophistication of its architecture designs were what marked the first sketch of our beloved LANDRÉ ONE.

when Elegance meets sophistication

Today, LANDRÉ has managed to manufacture time pieces that combine elegance and sophistication in one piece. From the complexity of the tourbillon, to the texture and finish of the strap. The materials used in the manufacture of these pieces were meticulously selected, meeting the demands of any connoisseur of watchmaking.

The beginning of a legacy

Watchmaking by itself is an art which takes time and effort, especially when talking about high watchmaking. Landré One seeks to combine the complexity of fine watchmaking with a tourbillon movement and the delicate decoration and finish of the dial through an enamel process.

How it started

It was in the 18th century when the Swiss watchmaker Abraham-Louis Breguet discovered that gravity was the main enemy of horological movements, as a solution to this, he invented the tourbillon movement in 1795.

The movement

Seeking to counteract the effects of gravity, he locked the entire escapement of the watch in a rotating cage, which rotating once every minute, equals the effect of gravity’s pull and thus giving the watch more precision. This movement was very successful for pocket watches since they are in the same position most of the time.

A mechanical watch

With wristwatches, the problem of positioning is not so critical given that the wrist keeps them in continuous movement. However, tourbillons have proven to be the most accurate, complicated, and best-looking mechanical watches. Only a few manufacturers master the assembly of this art pieces.

the enamel dial

Most dials are created from a rough metal disc, which is painted, machined, and finished, however, there are more complex processes such as the enamel dial, which forgoes the normal finish and the paint and seeks to highlight its color and details through a layer of enamel which gives it a porcelain finish.

finishing touches

Enamle is the mixing of a colored oxide and silica powder on the dial surface that will then be cured by heat in a furnace raising the dial to temperatures of800 ° C (1472 ° F), making the liquid evaporate leaving only the pigments and the oxide layer on the dial, creating this beautiful porcelain finish.

perfect result

It is worth noting that enamel has been used in goldsmithing for 3,500 years, and in watchmaking since the 17th century, however despite having greater technology and knowledge in making these dials the delicacy of this process can easily crack or create a disproportion on it, that is why many of the created dials must be discarded until obtaining the perfect one.
